Classes cancelled January 10 and January 11 at WSU Pullman

The WSU Pullman campus will cancel classes on Monday, Jan. 10 and Tuesday, Jan. 11 to allow students ample time to return to Pullman following a week of severe winter weather in the state. The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that all mountain passes connecting the west and east sides of the state are closed until at least Sunday due to snow slides, downed trees, and the threat of avalanches.

WSU Pullman facilities and operations will be open normal business hours on Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting. It is only Pullman classes that are cancelled at this time.

Shooting in the Williams Drive Area in Pullman

UPDATE 11:45am

Pullman resident George Melvin Harris III (6/27/98) was arrested for Assault 2, for his involvement in this morning’s shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Those with additional information about this case are asked to call Pullman PD at (509) 334-0802.

Pullman Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning in the College Hill area of Pullman that resulted in two individuals being shot—one fatally and the other with life threatening injuries.

WSU Pullman Campus Operations Suspended due to Inclement Weather, Wednesday 2/5/2020

Operations at Washington State University’s Pullman campus will be suspended tomorrow, Wednesday February 5, 2020 due to inclement weather.  All scheduled classes and labs are cancelled and only essential services, including student housing, dining and health services, will be provided. Only those WSU employees previously designated as essential to campus operations should report to work.

WSU Pullman Campus Operations Suspended February 11, 2019

Operations at Washington State University’s Pullman campus are suspended today due to inclement weather. All scheduled classes and labs are cancelled and only essential services, including student housing, dining and health services, will be provided. Only those WSU employees previously designated as essential to campus operations should report to work.

Snow removal from campus is underway, and slick or icy spots may still remain. All personnel not directly responsible for snow removal and are not considered essential personnel are asked to stay off campus for their own safety.

TEST – WSU Pullman Lockdown & Notification

WSU Emergency Management is conducting a test of the WSU Alert Notification System. This system will provide notice & information in emergencies. The WSU Pullman campus is also practicing a campus-wide lockdown. Expect electronic locks on interior and exterior doors to engage beginning at 11:45 a.m lasting until 12:00 Noon. Use this time to consider what you would do if this were a real event. Remember Run, Hide, Fight. During all emergencies students, staff, and faculty should be ALERT to developing incidents, ASSESS the situation, and ACT to ensure their own safety.
