On 10-26-16 at about 10:20 PM WSU PD responded to a burglary at Nez Perce Village complex. The investigation showed the suspect entered the apartment through a locked sliding glass door and took a wallet. There are no suspects at this time.
As a safety precaution, if you live in a residence with a sliding glass door or ground level window, it is a good idea to place a wooden dowel or similar item in the sliding glass door or window track for an additional layer of security.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Palouse region.
Starting this evening, sustained winds with gusts reaching 50mph are expected. The wind advisory is in effect from 2AM To 7PM Friday, October 14th. Heavy rainfall is also likely, which could cause minor localized flooding in some areas. Weather patterns are expected to continue into next week.
Take appropriate action to be ready for possible impacts from the storm. Be prepared for possible scattered power outages. Use extra caution when driving as high winds can make driving difficult.
Gas leak has been rendered safe in the construction area. North Fairway Road is still closed between The Marriott and Nez Perce Apartment driveways, but both driveways are now accessible. Avista crews are continuing to work in the area.
Avista crews are responding to the natural gas leak. Construction crews struck the line causing a rupture. WSU Police have shut down the area on Fairway Road while crews respond. Guests of the Residence Inn and residents of the nearby Nez Perce Apartments are being allowed through.
