Successful Test of WSU Alert System

The Office of Emergency Management conducted the fall semester test of the WSU Alert System yesterday, October 12th  at 12:05 p.m. The test reached ­20,451 students, faculty and staff within five minutes via text, phone call and email. The campus outdoor warning sirens and computer pop-up notification messages were also tested. During yesterday’s test, all notification mechanisms were activated, therefore recipients may have received multiple alerts. WSU encourages students, faculty and staff to be personally aware of developing incidents, assessing each emergency individually, and taking actions to ensure the safety of all.

Test of WSU Alert System

This is a test of the WSU Alert System. On October 12th at 12:05 p.m. test notifications were sent out to WSU students, faculty and staff who were signed up to receive alerts through MyWSU. Notifications were sent out via text, phone call and email. The campus outdoor warning sirens were tested. Most computers associated with WSU also received a pop-up notification. The WSU Alert system was created to disseminate time critical safety information to the campus population. WSU encourages students, faculty and staff to be personally AWARE of developing incidents, ASSESS each emergency individually, and ACT to ensure their own safety.

WSU Alert Fall Semester Test Thursday, October 12th

The WSU Office of Emergency Management will be conducting the fall semester test of the WSU Alert system October 12th at 12:05 p.m. Faculty, staff and students associated with the Pullman campus who have signed up for emergency notifications will receive text messages, phone calls, and emails which will be clearly identified as a test. This test will also include the campus outdoor warning sirens and computer pop-up alerts.
