Semester Testing of WSU Alert System on Pullman Campus March 5, 2019 11:45am-12:00 noon

The WSU Office of Emergency Management will be conducting the spring semester test of the WSU Alert system on the Pullman campus Tuesday, March 5 at 11:45 a.m. Faculty, staff and students associated with the Pullman campus who have signed up for emergency notifications will receive text messages, phone calls, emails, and desktop alerts on select computers which will be clearly identified as a test. This test will include the campus outdoor warning sirens, which are designed to warn people on campus to take shelter and seek further information from other WSU Alert resources such as alert.wsu.edu. WSU Pullman Campus Operations delayed 2 hours Thursday, 2/14/19

All Pullman campus operations are delayed two hours until 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 due to icy conditions. All classes, activities and events beginning prior to 10:00 a.m. are cancelled.

Facilities crews are applying deicer and gravel throughout WSU Pullman, which will allow for easier travel this morning. All personnel not directly responsible for snow/ice removal and are not considered essential personnel are asked to stay off campus for their own safety.

Employees are encouraged to be aware of personnel processes for periods of inclement weather. Human Resource Services has posted many resources on the Inclement Weather & Suspended Operations website. Students should … » More …

WSU Pullman Operating on a Normal Schedule Wednesday, February 13, 2019

WSU Pullman is operating on normal operations today, February 13, 2019.

Snow removal from campus will continue to occur, and slick or icy spots may still remain. Please use caution while driving and walking throughout campus and surrounding areas. Be prepared with appropriate footwear.

Travel may be difficult in places, but many weather related vehicle accidents are preventable. Decrease speed and increase following and stopping distances on snow or ice. Use traction control devices when necessary and limit trips if possible.

WSU Pullman Campus Operations Suspended February 11, 2019

Operations at Washington State University’s Pullman campus are suspended today due to inclement weather. All scheduled classes and labs are cancelled and only essential services, including student housing, dining and health services, will be provided. Only those WSU employees previously designated as essential to campus operations should report to work.

Snow removal from campus is underway, and slick or icy spots may still remain. All personnel not directly responsible for snow removal and are not considered essential personnel are asked to stay off campus for their own safety.

911 services have now been restored and normal operations have resumed. If you do have any trouble connecting, 509-332-2521 will still connect you to an emergency dispatcher. As a reminder, please call 911 only for emergency situations and not to test the system.

9 1 1 is currently experiencing a statewide interruption. Whitman county emergency callers can call 509-332-2521 to reach first responders until further notice.

Reminder for Inclement Weather

As we enter into the time of year that inclement weather conditions are on its way, we would like to remind everyone to take personal safety into account when determining whether travel to and from campus can be accomplished safely.

Because WSU Pullman is a residential and research campus, decision makers consider a broad range of implications when making any change to campus operations. If classes are cancelled, many essential operations are still in service and essential personnel, including Facilities, Dining, and Police, remain on campus. Extra Caution Advised this Weekend

With College GameDay coming to our WSU Pullman campus, there are many exciting things happening this weekend. Crowds in the Pullman-Moscow area are anticipated to be nearly 100,000 to participate in GameDay and see Ol’ Crimson fly in Pullman.

Traffic congestion is expected to be severe and we encourage everyone to be careful and mindful on the roads this weekend. Allow extra time to travel to and from your destination. Expect a large number of RVs on the road. Pedestrian traffic will also be increased so be aware of individuals walking to and from events. The following road closures will occur this week:
