Homicide

PULLMAN – On Saturday, May 30 at about 4:48 pm, Pullman officers were dispatched to an apartment at 960 NE ‘C’ St. on a report of a domestic disturbance between a son and father. Officers arrived and found the father on the floor and unresponsive. Officers initiated CPR and Pullman Fire Department Paramedics took over lifesaving efforts upon their arrival, but were ultimately unsuccessful in reviving the victim. It appears that the victim suffered a head wound; an autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.

The son, identified as Erik Clifford Luden, a 24 year-old resident of the apartment, was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Luden was arrested for Murder 1st Degree and transported to the Pullman Police Department for booking after release from the hospital. Luden will later be transported to the Whitman County Jail. The victim is identified as Virgil Clifford Luden, a 58 year-old Sammamish resident. There is no known motive at this time.
