A recent incident outside of Pullman has disrupted natural gas service to the residents of Pullman, Moscow, Lewiston, Clarkston, and the surrounding communities.

Due to an increase in households coming back online and a decrease in demand for warming facilities, WSU Pullman is dropping down to one warming shelter. The Chinook Student Center will be open overnight (websites are in the process of being updated) and available for use by members of the community. As a reminder, here are some notes associated with the facility/campus:

Q: Will food be available in the Chinook?

A: A list of on-campus dining options can be found online here: https://dining.wsu.edu/dining-options/. Individuals can bring drinks and snacks with them. Please remember that WSU Pullman is a tobacco-free campus, and alcohol is prohibited in the Chinook.

Q: Will beds and bedding be available in the Chinook?

A: The Chinook does not have bedding or beds/cots available. Individuals are welcome to bring bedding, sleeping bags, etc.

Q: Are showers available on campus?

A: The Chinook has hot water and limited shower facilities available for use. Individuals must bring their own towels and toiletries.

Q: Can I bring my pets to the warming shelter?

A: At this time, only service animals are allowed in the Chinook.

Q: Where can I park on campus?

A: Many lots do not require permits after 5 p.m. Hourly parking is available and easily accessed through the AMP parking app and website. Please visit the Transportation Services website for a current parking map.

Q: I live in university housing and do not have heat. What should I do?
