The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a winter storm watch in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. Snow accumulations are 3 to 6 inches, beginning late Thursday afternoon and increasing in intensity Thursday night, tapering off to scattered snow showers late Friday afternoon or evening. More snow is expected Saturday. Impacts- heavy snow accumulation on area roads will make driving difficult and treacherous. The Friday morning commute period will be particularly impacted.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. Please plan ahead when traveling. Consider rescheduling travel that is not necessary when driving conditions are poor, provide plenty of extra time to reach your destination, consider safe alternative travel routes, and prepare your vehicle for safe winter driving.
