On Tuesday, April 19, there was a water main break on North Grand Avenue near Dissmore’s, causing a water outage and loss of pressure in the water system. This led to the City of Pullman issuing a precautionary boil water order for those who live on College and Military Hill. Water samples were taken and submitted for testing.
The WSU Office of Emergency Management sent out a notification and updates to supplement the City of Pullman’s boil water order due to the possibility that it may affect students, staff and faculty.
The lab results of the sampling indicated that there is no water contamination. As a result, the boil water order has been lifted as of 1:20 p.m. Thursday, April 21. If residents or business owners have not run the taps since the break, there may be sediment in the pipes. Running water until it clears should be all that is necessary.
