Earlier today, 12-inch water main located in Grand Avenue near Dissmore’s ruptured and several hundred thousand gallons of water escaped from two City of Pullman reservoirs in the system, which were drained and parts of the system were completely without water. Because of this event, a water quality warning (Boil Notice) has been issued for College Hill and Military Hill. While this does not affect buildings on the main WSU campus, Greek houses, WSU facilities off campus and the Research Park are impacted.

IF YOU ARE IN A BUILDING IN THESE AREAS, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiled or purchased bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The City of Pullman will issue an all-clear notification when this situation has been resolved.
