Wildfire Smoke
September 06, 2024 11:34amAir quality on the WSU Pullman Campus has been sufficiently affected by area and regional wildfire smoke to reach a measured airborne respirable particulate concentration of 35.5 micrograms per cubic meter. The Washington Department of Labor and Industries Wildfire Smoke Rule requires employee notification at this unhealthy for sensitive groups air quality threshold. Supervisors must make N95 respirators available to outdoor workers for voluntary use; however, employees are encouraged but not required to wear N95 respirators under voluntary use provisions. All outdoor workers must complete the Wildfire Smoke training journey in Percipio.
